33. Perry, Florida - 2/16/24
Greetings,
Once again, I was driving through Perry and stopped for just a little bit at the Loughridge Park... so glad I did because this time I found a 1956 silver dime! Last time it was a silver quarter, very cool!
We are coin collectors... so this is a GREAT addition to my collection!

34. Cedar Key, Florida - 2/25/24
Hey There,
On this day, I went to Cedar Key. They have a park with a playground right next to their beach and it gets busy! Go early!
In the picture, there is a cross... we tried to find the owner but it went unclaimed (we ask for a description). The larger coin is a Mexican coin, great addition to my foreign coin collection... cool!

35. Clearwater, Florida - 3/21/24
Hi,
Today I went to Clearwater Beach. I got there very early and I'm so glad about that. The city was setting up for a big sand sculpting event and I beat the tractors to the beach... very good! The main find was the knife, happy to have it!

36. Siesta Key, Florida - 3/23/24
Hey There,
On this day I went to Siesta Key, there was plenty of competition (at least 4 other detectorist) plus the weather was a dark sky with heavy rain clouds. It drizzled off and on then later cleared up. The main find was a man's ring... guess it's popular because I found the same ring but a different size in the past at Ft. Lauderdale beach. Cool!

37. Ft. Lauderdale South Beach, Fl. - 3/25/24
Hi There,
Today was fun because it was a team effort though the findings weren't very big. We detected Ft. Lauderdale South Beach early for just a bit in the morning. The pendant was small (possibly an earring) but very beautiful, the Pandora bead was silver and a 1979 Susan B. Anthony dollar coin was the icing on the cake!

38. Fort Pierce, Fl. - 3/28/24
Greetings,
This was a good day... as you can see, I found a necklace! It is silver with the 925 markings and beautiful. I think it may have been worn a lot because of how the clasp was but that's just a guess. Nice find!

39. Siesta Key, Fl. - 7/14/24 - 7/19/24
Hi again,
Was able to detect Siesta Key beach five times. Every day I was out metal detecting, I saw at least four other metal detectorists. Day two was a pretty good day with the findings of 2 rings and 3 earrings. Day four was rainy with sand gnats (no see-ums). Beautiful beach!

40. Brandon, Fl. - 8/22/24
Hey there,
This is a park in the town of Brandon, next to Tampa. It was an interesting treasure hunt because I don't think I even scratched the surface of what's there. I found a handful of change, a piece of costume jewelry, a token and a 1944 wheat penny. Enjoyable!

41. Hollywood, Fl. - 9/03/24
Greetings,
It's not often that you find a pair of earrings but these earrings were found about five feet apart. The item next to the earrings is a belt buckle. I was told by my brother that when he found the buckle, his eyes almost popped out because he was hoping they were real diamonds (lol). Unfortunately not so, according to his diamond tester. Still, some cool finds while enjoying the beach!

Hurricane Helene - 9/24/2024 - 9/29/2024
Hi Everyone,
On September 24, 2024, Hurricane Helene was in the early stages of forming. Though the Atlantic hurricane season had 5 major hurricanes (out of 11), the one that literally "hit home" for T&S Publications was Hurricane Helene.
"Home Base" for T&S Publications is Cedar Key, Florida. Late in the evening on September 26th, Hurricane Helene reached a category 4 as it passed by Cedar Key on its way to the Big Bend area (Perry, Florida). Storm surge and flooding was very high and devastated the town of Cedar Key.
We are a brother/sister team (Thomas and Susan) at T&S Publications and our families property in Cedar Key also took a major hit. The decision not to rebuild was not ours to make however we will continue to use our p.o.box address there (for now).
Being "treasure hunters" did come in handy in retrieving some irreplaceable items. We will share and feature some of these things with you in our Treasure News and Treasure Log. Thanks!

42. Cedar Key, Fl. - 9/28/24
Hey There,
As explained in the last entry, we at T&S Publications were personally affected by Hurricane Helene. There was a lot of shock and overwhelm at the time we first arrived, so much in fact that taking pictures of our "detector finds" were probably the last thing on our minds. So, I will give a verbal account of the first few days.
Two large cooking "stock pots" and 3 regular pots full of coins and jewelry were found (overflowing). Many coins were from coin collections and the jewelry was a mix of very valuable and costume jewelry. Sadly, much of what was found then was mixed with mud and sand... but at least a lot was recovered!

43. Cedar Key, Fl. - 9/30/24 - 12/31/2024
Hello,
The property at Cedar Key has been searched with metal detectors numerous times now, though much was found in the first few days, I do still have some impressive photos I can share at this time.
The ring has been in the family since the late sixties. It was bought overseas and has 8 sapphires, diamonds and is made of white gold. This ring was about two feet down in the dirt... so glad it's back where it belongs!
Below are more photos... wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
