10. Perry, Florida - 1/ 3/23
Hey There,
As I was driving through Perry, a very nice park caught my eye so I stopped for just a little bit. So glad I did because I found a silver quarter!
We are coin collectors... so anytime we can add to our collections, it's GREAT!!

11. Fort Island Gulf Beach, Florida - 3/3/23
Hi There,
On this day, I decided to go to Fort Island Gulf Beach early, but once again... I wasn't able to beat the tractor that combs the beach.
As I was there, a man came up to me upset about losing his phone the day before, he showed me the area and I said I would be happy to look for it. He was at the other end of the beach where the tractor had been. I searched and found his phone, he was so relieved that he tried to pay me but I didn't take any money. He was amazed the phone still worked and left very happy.
The ring I found there felt like a "reward" for doing a good deed. It was down 3-4 inches with no damage or missing stones... and it wasn't where the tractor had been so I think it had been there a while.
It's markings say 925 (silver) and CZ (cubic zirconium). Sure would have been nice if they were the real diamonds but it is a very beautiful ring and well made. Cool!

12. Jensen Beach. Fl - 3/24/23
Hi Everyone,
On this day, we met up for a long day of treasure hunting in Jensen Beach. Starting at the local beach, we were there so early that we were using our headlamps! We spotted one other person with a metal detector and just a few people.
Our main find on this trip was the silver bracelet (shown in the picture). Still haven't researched it yet but I'll get around to it soon.
From the beach, we went to a local park and after that we tried Bathtub Beach (which was closed) but we walked up the beach to get there. It was fun but we didn't find a lot other than the bracelet.

13. Random Metal Detecting Finds - 2023

Note - The pic in the middle is a man's 18K gold ring and the coins in the hand are not real (fakes).
14. Random Hot Wheels / Toy Finds - 2023

Note - Cool jet!
*Update on the Secret (Treasure Hunt):
If you didn't know, the Secret (Treasure Hunt) was created by Byron Preiss back in 1982. It is the search for twelve treasure boxes hidden in cities across the United States and Canada. The clues to these treasures were written in a book. Currently, only three of the treasure boxes have been found.
If you look at our Archive Treasure Log, we have a few entries on one of these treasure boxes that we believe we know where it is located. We had been in contact with the owner of the property and met with him several times, we felt things were good at that point. The property owner mentioned that the city was holding a meeting on the Secret Treasure Hunt, that he was one of the speakers and urged us to attend (or view it on Youtube). We did see the meeting on Youtube, there was a packed room of Treasure Hunters that showed up for this meeting (some traveled long distances).
The city meeting seemed as though they were trying to discourage (not encourage) the pursuit of the Secret treasure box. Incidentally, the property owner was scheduled to talk but he didn't show for the meeting. From that point, we lost contact with the property owner so we had no choice but to put this treasure hunt on the back burner... hopefully we'll get another shot at it in the future.
Florida Treasure Hunt
-
Featuring 18 locations
Hi Everyone,
Join me on a whirlwind trip around Florida and see what kind of treasures I found! You may wonder how a trip like this was possible... well, if your familiar with the RV lifestyle, that's how. Only a couple days were spent at a hotel during this two month adventure. As the job I was working in the panhandle came to an end (the tourist season was over), I decided to grab the opportunity to go treasure hunting! This wasn't the best time of year (cold) for this trip and numerous locations had hurricane and erosion damage, but I still went and had fun! Most of this trip are solo entries but I did team up with my brother at one point. Since there are many entries, the log part will be kept brief. Enjoy!

15. Okaloosa Island - 11/4/23 Start of Florida Treasure Hunt!
Hi there,
Only a few people on the beach that day, it was a bit chilly and breezy. The coins found came to about $4.00 plus a beautiful earring too!

16. Hudson Beach - 11/12/23
Hudson's beach is very small, so I was amazed to find such a beautiful watch on it! I found a similar watch on Amazon (Pulsar brand name) for about $50.00. I wear this watch a lot now.

17. Clearwater Beach - 11/13/23
Here is what I found at Clearwater Beach. Doesn't look like much I know... but this was a great surprise for me because those are REAL DIAMONDS! Yep, lots of them too! Of course when my brother got a diamond tester, I had to get one also. So I had a tester with me when I found this, it was an earring that lost it's post. On the back it says "Kallati", VERY expensive new!!

18. Siesta Beach - 11/17/23
Here are my findings from Siesta Beach. It was a bit of a disappointment but I did enjoy adding the fake pirate coin to my collection. I also got to see where my brother takes his vacations... cool!

19. Naples - 11/21/23
This was the last featured area for this trip on the west coast of Florida. I went to two spots, the Naples Pier and Lowdermilk Park. I found a silver ring with a small diamond in it at the Lowdermilk Park, more tourist there.

20. Pembroke Pines - 11/24/23
This was where I teamed up with my brother at Brian Piccolo Sports Park. This was a short treasure hunt (15 - 20 min.) because the mosquitos were really bad, there was no breeze and the bug spray just didn't do enough! Still, we did find an interesting pendant, token and a bit of change. Cool!

21. Hollywood - 11/25/23
On this day, I went to Hollywood Beach. I didn't find much but I did enjoy adding a coin to my foreign coin collection. My brother went the next day (solo) and showed me what I missed. He found the silver ring... oh well.

22. Fort Lauderdale - 11/27/23
Now this was fun, at Fort Lauderdale South Beach, I found an 18k gold filled necklace w/Jade and a couple rings! A good amount of change too.

23. Singer Island - 12/03/23
Here on beautiful Singer Island, I was a bit disappointed with my findings. A box-cutter and some change was about it... at least I got to visit with some family members!

24. Fort Pierce - 12/09/23
Fort Pierce has a very different beach, it's along the side as you come off the bridge. I found a divers watch that was definitely a good find... fun!

25. Melbourne - 12/12/23
Melbourne was one of several beaches with hurricane damage. I did a few places there including a park which is where I found a man's ring. This ring however was made of steel... a trend in jewelry we find sometimes.

26. Cocoa Beach - 12/14/23
Not much found at Cocoa Beach other than a nice pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, still I enjoyed seeing how the town honors their world class surfers (Kelly Slater Pavilion).

27. Patrick Space Force Base - 12/15/23
Patrick SFB (formally Patrick Air Force Base) is an area you drive by as your going to Cocoa Beach. They have 4 or 5 places to stop, park, look at the ocean, use the restroom and picnic tables to use also. I found a beautiful designer ring and a nicely made fake pirates coin too!

28. New Smyrna - 12/16/23
I enjoyed New Smyrna, even though the beaches were a bit of a mess, I still found a most incredible ring (no stones missing), simply beautiful! There's also a fantastic park at the end with a long boardwalk that allows dogs, cool!

29. Daytona Beach - 12/19/23
Daytona Beach had serious storm damage, erosion and the water was almost up to the wall! So, I walked down the beach and poked around the park by the pier. Still found an earring (I think) and a bit of change.

30. Jacksonville Beach - 12/30/23
After taking a break for Christmas, I resumed my trip in Jacksonville... it didn't disappoint! Found a Mercury Dime (1935) on a path to the beach and a cool 1953 pink Caddy on the beach plus a good bit of change at a park.

31. St Augustine - 1/02/24
I found lots of interesting things in St. Augustine, some jewelry, toys and a good bit of change. It was a pleasure to go there, beautiful city!

32. Palatka - 1/04/24
End of Florida Treasure Hunt!
This was the last featured place for this trip. I found a lot of change at a few parks in Palatka, it was interesting. The last two months have been a great adventure for me... good stuff!
